My name is Adam Koepke and I’m from Appleton, Wisconsin. Appleton has really started centering it’s focus around the arts the past few years and that has really influenced me to take of a craft.
A couple years ago, armed with tools I’m pretty sure weren’t for wood working, I set out on a scrap piece of pine from Home Depot and made my first spoon. It was then I was absolutely hooked! To be able to take a raw piece of wood and turn it into something with nothing but a few simple hand tools is what really drew me in.
I love to use spoon carving as a form of stress relief, but also as an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone by trying new things.
