This spoon was carved from a branch of a tree that had fallen over during a storm in a local park here in Bergen, Norway. I am not sure which species it is, but it has no taste to it, which is usually what one wants from an eating spoon.
It was carved from a branch intersection, so that the handle and center of the bowl follow the curvature of the wood fibers, giving it strength. The tools used where an axe and two different knives.
Hand wash gently using soapy water. Do not leave to soak. If needed, after a while of frequent use, it may be given a touch-up with a drop of linseed oil.
