The Little Viking Axe – Svante Djärv

The Little Viking Axe. A versatile carving axe for green woodworking made by Svante Djärv in Sweden. Ground to 30 degrees. The position of the cutting edge in relation to the handle results to a very efficient slicing action. The medium weight head is at 800 g and the cutting edge measures 140 mm (5 1/2″). The comfortable curved ribbed handle is made of Swedish ash and it is 340 mm (13 1/2″) long. Following the  tradition the head is fixed to the handle by a well seasoned wooden wedge.

Although all handles are made having the same humidity, the total axe weight might vary. Comes with a hand made leather sheath. Colours may vary from the ones in the pictures. Please drop us a message for stock availability.
