I first started carving spoons as a way to maintain my sanity while taking care of my younger daughter when she was a toddler, and then after a few years I decided to see if I could make a go of it as my primary source of income. It took several years, but at this point most of my income is directly or indirectly related to carving spoons. 

I sell spoon blanks, burnishing tools, template sheets, and carve lots and lots of spoons. I no longer teach, but at one point that was a regular part of my practice, and I have funneled that energy into several books about spoon carving that will be coming out in 2022. I also publish Spoonesaurus Magazine, a print only, quarterly magazine that is entirely about spoon carving. Finally, I have a daily podcast called Emmet Audio that you can find anywhere you listen to podcasts.
