Hi! I’m Gui and I make carving tools here in Brazil.

I started my journey as a tool maker after a twenty-year career working with technology and software. This late call to this craft was a mix of reunion – as I come from a family of artists and artisans – and the search for purpose in a less virtual world.

Here in Brazil, I seek to reduce barriers so that spoon carving – as a hobby or business – becomes more accessible for more Brazilians.

Selling tools globally through The Spoon Crank – particularly to countries where the spoon carving practice is more developed and there is demand for tools – helps a lot by keeping my business strong while we develop more this beautiful craft around here.
