The “My First Opinel” No7 folding knife with a rounded-tip blade is an excellent knife for for younger users and for any kind of outdoor activities due to its corrosion-resistant stainless steel blade and its compact size. As any other sharp object “My First Opinel” must be used under the supervision of an adult.

The blade is 80mm long and it’s made of anti-corrosive Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel thanks to the addition of chrome. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge. Blade hardness 57-58 HRC. The Yatagan shape of the blade is inspired by a traditional Turkish saber. The blade is ground to an exclusive convex profile that ensures the strength of the blade and allows efficient regrinding.

The wooden handle is comfortable in the hand and it’s made of beech wood from France. Beech wood is hard, durable and easy to work with. Features a homogeneous appearance and its colour varies from yellow to pink.

The Virobloc safety ring, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, is fitted to all folding knives. Made of of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in open position for safety in use, it is now possible to lock the blade closed for added safety in transport.
