My spoon carving escapades began over a decade ago while working as a wilderness therapy guide in Utah. We had lots of down time sitting around the fire, and a spoon gifting culture developed among the staff. Several years ago, I attended a traditional skills gathering and was introduced to proper carving tools and techniques that inspired a renewed interest in spoon carving. In 2021, I started North Wind Handcraft as a way to address the mounting spoon problem growing in my house. I will be selling spoons and spoon blanks.
