Woodland cc Custom 85mm full tang sloyd knife is the flagship of our carving range. Boasts a15N20 Swedish high carbon steel blade and full tang construction, this sloyd knife has become a popular choice of experienced carvers. The handle is crafted from select Australian hardwoods. On this knife I chose the combination of some stunning pieces of Yarran and Brigalow with polished brass hardware.

The distal taper and the flat Scandi ground to a zero edge blade at a bevel angle of 25⁰ (inclusive) 12.5⁰ on either side, this is a very capable, fine cutting, nimble and accurate carving tool. The full tang construction increases the overall strength and balance of this beautifully handcrafted piece. While the rounded spine adds to a more comfortable cutting experience.

15N20 is a sturdy nickel alloy and it has been heat treated to a hardness of 60-61 HRC, which I find to be the “sweet spot” to get the most out of this awesome old-school steel grade, providing the perfect balance between hardness/edge retention, durability and ease of maintenance.

Please note:  Each and every blade that leaves our workshop receives the same heat treatment (*specific to each steel grade in question*) and testing procedure. Regardless of how small or large the blade size or batch quantity.
