The inspiration for this knife came from seeing a long bladed carving tool used by a Japanese furniture maker. The original tool is described as a wagatana, however I have adapted the profile of a kogatana to make this tool. The blade is made from 80CrV2 steel. The blade is suited specifically for either a right-handed or left-handed carver. Handles are made from Australian timbers.
