A timeless tool for traditional green woodworking, the Splitting Froe is made for cleanly and efficiently splitting wood, logs, and shingles. Whether you’re making roof shingles, shaping billets, or preparing carving stock, this hand-forged froe is built to deliver precision and durability for the long haul.

Each froe is hand-forged from tough 5160 spring steel, known for its excellent edge retention and resilience. The blade is hardened to 58–60 HRC. Fitted with a turned, tapered ash handle, each froe offers excellent grip and control for clean, controlled splits.
